Exploring aspects of narrative involves looking at what a writer has chosen to include/exclude and how this choice leads the reader to certain conclusion. Representation - Characters are not real. The author controls them and they do what the author wants them to. There is rain and storm outside a cottage. The persona is rather depressed until Porphyria arrives and brings warmth. She is alluring and she seduces him. He realises that she's devoted to him and in a bid to keep her forever, he strangles her with her long hair. |
